We are always interested in ways in which we can extend our Spanish curriculum and this half term are exploring the use of Tute, an online learning platform in which social technology including an interactive whiteboard, microphone, webcam and chat are used to provide a tailored teaching programme.

Lewis, Charlie, Videet, Lauren, Taylor and Amelia in Year 3/4 are taking part in a weekly online class with a fully qualified Spanish teacher through Tute, in which they are learning about the weather and clothing.

Sock Puppets

KS1 ICT Club have been exploring an app on the iPad called Sock Puppets. Sock Puppet enables you to add your own backgrounds. The children used some pictures from our school which they saved from the Dropbox app.

We imagined used some very unusual creatures and people from the app an imagined they had visited school!

Here's a couple of examples...

The record function in the app enables a voiceover to be created too.

Year 3/4 are musicians!

Year 3/4 have been exploring how technology can be used to create music. They have been using Garageband to create compositions to accompany silent film footage, which they first of all viewed on Dropbox. They chose their favourite clip and saved this to their iPad's camera roll. Next, they used Garageband to compose their music and shared this with iMovie, where they then brought the music and film together. Year 3/4 were challenged to create a pulse in their compositions using drum and bass loops in Garageband.
